IS PAUL MILLSAP LEAVING ATLANTA?
The Atlanta Hawks seem to be at a crossroads. Although they are currently sitting in 4th place in the Eastern Conference standings, they just made a head scratcher of a trade. Kyle Korver, one of the better 3-point shooters in the NBA and a valuable piece to the Hawks rotation, was jettisoned off to the CAVS. Atlanta received a future 1st round pick and veteran Mike Dunleavy.
While we don’t like that trade at all for Atlanta, the bigger news is that All-Star Paul Millsap’s name is floating around as being the next Hawk to be traded. One major reason we believe Millsap might be out of Atlanta is the fact he will most likely opt of his his player option for next season. If this is the case, Atlanta would probably be better served to try and get something back in return for the All-Star.
We really like the former Louisiana Tech star’s game. In our minds he is finally getting the recognition he rightfully deserves. The 31-year old is averaging 17.8pts, 8.2reb, and 3.7ast this year. So, what teams are interested in Millsap? We are hearing that Boston, Denver, Miami, and Toronto are the teams most interested.
Paul Millsap can be a player that helps a playoff team immensely. That is why we believe that the Celtics will make a big push to acquire him. They have the assets Atlanta would want. Draft picks and young talent is one way to rebuild and would be the smart move for Atlanta if they are rebuilding.
We will be updating Millsap’s situation as the February 21 trade deadline nears.
QUESTIONS FOR THE READER:
If you were the Atlanta GM, what would you do in this situation?
What would you be looking for in return for Millsap?

OTHER NBA RUMORS
Here are other NBA rumors that are floating around. Let us know what you think about these rumors. You can leave all comments in the section below.
WILL MARCUS MORRIS STAY WITH DETROIT?
The Detroit Pistons have been very disappointing this season. If you were Stan Van Gundy, would you trade the talented 27-year old PF for a possible draft pick or a young and upcoming player? Van Gundy is the head coach and general manager of Detroit.
THE 76ERS ARE LOOKING FOR A PG?
The 76ers plan to play number 1 pick Ben Simmons at the PG position when he returns from injury. Although he probably won’t play this season, the lowly but talented 76ers are looking for PG help. While whoever they add won’t be a game-changer, it will give a young player the chance to prove himself in the NBA. The player we would like to see is Anthony (Cat) Barber. We liked him in college and think he can be a solid NBA back-up. He is currently playing in the D-League. We say give the super fast Barber a shot.
ARE THE KNICKS GOING AFTER P.J TUCKER?
The Knicks have been going through a real rough patch and once again have been playing terrible defense. Head Coach Jeff Hornacek is in desperate need of a tough wing defender and the 5-year veteran Tucker would provide help. If you were the Knicks, would you trade for Tucker? If not, what player would you try and go after to improve their defense?

CHRISS PLAYING LIKE A FUTURE PHOENIX CORNERSTONE
While the Phoenix Suns are off to a 12-25 record, there seems to be hope for the future. While Dragan Bender (3.1pts, 2reb, 12mpg) , the 4th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft has struggled to adjust to the NBA game, another Phoenix rookie is showing glimpses of becoming a very good player.
Marquese Chriss was the 8th overall selection by the Suns after playing one year in college. The former Washington Huskie’s star was considered very raw with an abundance of potential when he was drafted. That label has proven to be spot on. At times, Chriss looks like he should still be in college. At other times, we see why he was a top 10 pick.
The 6’9″ power forward shows excellent athletic ability and has impressed us with his rebounding and defense. Phoenix is trying to develop him into a “stretch 4” as he shows the ability in flashes to hit the mid-range jumper. At only 19-years old, Chriss is averaging 7.3pts, 4reb, in 17.4 minutes per game. These are solid statistics for a player his age and the limited minutes he gets per game.
As his shooting continues to develop, we look for the youngster to gain more confidence and improve upon his weaknesses. We weren’t completely sold on him when he was selected so high in last years draft. We might end up being wrong with our analysis on the rookie.
While the Phoenix Suns look to be in a full rebuild, it will be players such as Bender and Marquese Chriss who will give their fans hope for the future. Fans have to be patient with these teenagers, however, the future is looking a little brighter than their record indicates.
