PLAYER SUMMARY: Miles Bridges plays at national power Huntington Prep in West Virginia. Andrew Wiggins, OJ Mayo, and Patrick Patterson are 3 alumni that are now in the NBA.
At this point in his development, Bridges is considered an undersized Power Forward, Although standing only 6’6″, his athleticism, quickness, and skill level causes match-up nightmares for opposing high school players. He reminds me very much of a young Draymond Green, and will be sure to hear those comparisons when he heads off to Michigan State in the fall. Green was a former All-American at MSU a few years back.
Bridges is a do-everything player, although he has one major weakness, shooting. I believe the lefty is a perfect fit in MSU’s system and Tom Izzo will love his versatility and toughness. Bridges is excellent in the open-court, however can struggle when the game is slowed down and played in a half-court setting. This is because he can sometimes struggle against smaller players.
Miles Bridges is an excellent rebounder despite his height. The one question mark I have on him is he doesn’t have a set position. I consider him a “tweener”. However, he is a very talented player who is a Tom Izzo type of player. Izzo loves tough, gritty players, and Miles Bridges certainly fits that bill. How good Bridges will eventually become comes down to one thing. Shooting. If he can become a little better than average shooter, he will have an immediate impact for the Spartans next year. He is one of the toughest players in the class of 2016.
