PLAYER SUMMARY: The longest and fiercest recruiting battle for the nation’s top player recently came to an end. On April 11, Josh Jackson made Kansas Head Coach Bill Self a very happy man when he committed to the Kansas Jayhawks. He will instantly remind one of the most loyal college basketball fan-bases in the country of Andrew Wiggins.

Jackson is arguably the best high school athlete at any sport in the country. When watching film of the 6’7″ SG/SF, he might be the best high school prospect since Wiggins committed to Kansas a few years ago. His offensive game is already at an elite level. His ability to see the floor combined with his explosiveness is unparalleled at the high school level. He is a natural born scorer and is a phenomenal defensive player, which makes him a force on both ends of the court. He is an outstanding rebounder for his position. We believe he has the ability in the future to be a star defender, capable of completely taking his opposing opponent out of the game.

The 19-year old is an above average ball-handler for his size and position which should improve in time, which will only make him more lethal. Jackson shows nice form on his jump-shot, although it will need refinement, which should come with repetitions. The McDonald’s All-American is unselfish and a very willing passer who likes to set his teammates up, knowing he has the ability to get to the rim virtually any time he wants.

Jackson is a pleasure to watch in the open court but what really impressed us when watching him is the comfort level he seems to have in a half-court setting. He is very composed, which is unusual for such an elite athlete. For supreme athletes like Jackson the game can sometimes be too fast and players can get out of control. He doesn’t show this often, which is a very underrated attribute of a young player.

We hold Josh Jackson in high regard just like virtually every other basketball fan/analyst in the country. Athletes who combine the basketball skills that Jackson possesses don’t come around very often. He offers elite attributes in almost every category a basketball player gets graded on. Look for Josh Jackson to be a star at Kansas. He won’t be there very long as he will probably be a one and done college player. He has a very good chance of being the number 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Josh Jackson has a chance to be a future NBA All-Star and the face of an NBA organization. He is that good!
