PLAYER SUMMARY: Michigan State had high expectations going into the NCAA tournament, however were shocked in the first round. Head Coach Tom Izzo went on the recruiting trail and landed Michigan’s Mr. Basketball for 2016.

Cassius Winston is a player who should get immediate playing time for the Spartans. He is a phenomenal ball-handler with true point guard instincts. He can get to any spot on the floor that he wants due to his quickness. His court-vision is one of the best among the class of 2016 point guards and is excellent in transition. He is a true point guard in every sense of the word.

At this point in time Winston is a good shooter with room to improve. He needs a reliable jump-shot in order to keep defenders honest. He will need to add strength to his frame as the Big-10 conference is known for being a tough, physical conference. The extra strength will allow him to be able to defend opposing point guards better as so he won’t be pushed around.

Winston is part of an excellent recruiting class for the Spartans, which includes SF/PF Miles Bridges and SG Joshua Langford. These 3 players will form the future of Michigan State basketball with Cassius Winston leading the way with his natural leading ability. Winston should be a very good point guard for the Spartans.
