PLAYER SUMMARY: Dayton head coach Archie Miller is one of the better young coaches in america. The brother of Arizona head coach Sean Miller, Archie has perennial strong teams that are very competitive in the tough and underrated Atlantic 10 conference. Archie went out on the recruiting trail and landed a player with one of the higher upsides in the class of 2016.

Kostas Antetokounmpo comes from a very talented basketball family. One of his brothers, Thanasis, was drafted by the Knicks a few years ago and is now playing in Greece. His other brother is one of the best young talents in the NBA. Giannis, other wise known as the “Greek Freak” is a young star for the Milwaukee Bucks. Kostas has the same body type as his 2 younger brothers and has a basketball body that people can only wish they had.

Kostas is a 6’9″ small forward with an ever improving overall skill-set. When evaluating his game, we see a player who would rather set teammates up first before asserting himself on the offensive end. He is very unselfish. We like his shooting stroke for a player his size as he shows good fundamentals. However, he will need to become more consistent. He shows good athletic ability, however he is not an elite one like Giannis, although not many players in the world are.

Kostas really makes his mark on the defensive end. He shows the potential to become a premier defensive player. While he needs to get in the weight room, his size and length allows him to defend multiple positions on the basketball court. He has an uncanny knack for blocking shots and his long arms allow him to gamble for steals. He as been a good rebounder at the high school level, however he needs to get into the weight room and put on muscle and weight in order to handle the rigors of a full college season.

Kostas Antetokounmpo is a player who Archie Miller should be thrilled to have. The upside to him is enormous. While it will take a lot of work for him to reach that potential, he is known as a hard worker. His defensive ability will get him playing time for the Flyers next season as a freshmen. Just how much overall playing time he receives will depend on the improvements he makes on the offensive side of the ball.

He is a player we will surely be keeping an eye on. Archie Miller is an excellent developmental coach so it would not surprise us in the least if Kostas explodes onto the national scene as a sophomore and beyond.
