HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL PLAYER PROFILE (CHAUNDEE BROWN)

CHAUNDEE BROWN

#35 RANKED PLAYER IN THE COUNTRY (CLASS OF 2017)

STAR RANKING: 4 STARS

HEIGHT:  6’4”

WEIGHT: 210 POUNDS

POSITION: SHOOTING GUARD

HIGH SCHOOL:  FIRST ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL IN FLORIDA

CHOSE WAKE FOREST OVER: FLORIDA, KANSAS, MARYLAND

PLAYER SUMMARY: Danny Manning has done an excellent job since taking over the Wake Forest program a few years ago. The former Kansas star and NBA veteran has the Demon Deacons on the right path to success. He is also getting the job done on the recruiting trail, which is the key to winning and long-term success.

Chaundee Brown is perhaps Wake Forest’s most highly touted recruit in a while. He has the looks and talent to be the next star at the school since big-man John Collins will most likely be heading off to the NBA this summer. While evaluating the 4-star recruit’s overall game, we came away impressed. Brown has the ability to play 3 positions if the need arises. However, we believe he will eventually be a shooting guard.

We really like the way that he attacks the basket. He is very aggressive when getting to the rim and has the strength to finish. Brown already has a college ready body. When he is on his game, he scores in bunches. Of all the players we have profiled in the class of 2017, Brown is one of the most purest scorers. He can put the ball in the hoop in a variety of ways.

The mid-range game is a lost art in basketball. The Florida native is very proficient in that area. He has 3-point range, however, it is inconsistent at this stage. Due to solid shooting mechanics, we believe that he will become an above average 3-point shooter in time. Brown possesses good passing and ball-handling skills.

Brown has the ability to become a multi-dimensional defender at the college level. He rebounds the ball very well, and due to his strength and lateral quickness, he should be a good defender right away at Wake Forest

We firmly believe that Brown is actually underrated. While he is a 4-star recruit, we like his skill-set and potential better than players who are ranked higher. While he needs to improve in a few areas, he has what it takes to be a difference maker as a freshmen. Brown is a 2-way player who can play defense, rebound, and put the ball in the basket at a high rate. Wake Forest fans are going to like Chaundee Brown a lot. He has a chance to be an excellent ACC player.
