Welcome to our Free NBA Picks Against Spread (12-11-17). We will be previewing a game between 2 western conference teams in the Southwest Division. We will give our prediction for the game using the point spread. The Rockets enter tonight’s game as 11.5 point favorites.

The Houston Rockets riding a 9 game winning streak (119.8ppg during the stretch) boosts the NBA’s best record at 20-4. MVP candidate James Harden (last years runner up) enters the contest averaging a league best 32.3ppg good enough for a 2.5 pt cushion over Giannis Antetokounmpo. Harden is also 2nd in the league in assists with 9.2 per game. Also known as “The Beard” James Harden leads the NBA in made foul shots with 195 hitting at a 87.1% clip.

New Orleans counters with the dynamic duo of Demarcus Cousins (26.2ppg/12.4rpg/5.0apg) and Anthony Davis (25.1ppg/10.6rpg). Cousins has played in every game this year and the often injury prone Davis has only missed 4 of his teams 27 games.

This will be the first of 4 meetings on the season as the Rockets were able to win 3 of 4 last season. The Rockets will be playing the first of a 7 game home stand at the Toyota Center as they look to increase their win streak to double digits. Chris Paul (14.4ppg/9.8apg) has been a welcome addition and hasn’t tasted defeat in a Rockets uniform (10-0). In those games the Rockets are winning by an average of 17 pts and have failed to win by double digits in only 2 of them. Paul played the first game of the year before missing the following 14 due to a left knee injury. Since getting back on the court CP3 has been an integral part of the Rockets 9 game winning streak.

The Pelicans will have to do a good job defending the 3pt line if they want to compete in this match-up. To go along with league leader James Harden at 4.4 made three point field goals per game the Rockets feature Eric Gordon at 3, Ryan Anderson 2.9, Trevor Ariza 2.6 and Chris Paul who makes 2 per game. As a team the Rockets are hitting a robust 15.9  triples per game. That is 3.5 more made three pointers then the Golden State Warriors who place 2nd.

The Pelicans most recently knocked off the 76ers 131-124 yesterday and will look to complete a back to back with a two game winning streak. It will be up to veteran Rajon Rondo (7.5ppg/8.1apg) and Jrue Holiday (17.3ppg/5.5apg) to offset the mighty back-court of the Rockets.

With the Rockets clicking on all cylinders look for them to enjoy some home cooking tonight and extend their winning streak to 10 games outpacing the Pelicans 123-109. FREE NBA PICKS AGAINST SPREAD (12-11-17)
