IVAN RABB TO RETURN TO CAL

Star freshmen PF/C Ivan Rabb will be heading back to Cal for his sophomore season. Rabb was a potential top 10 pick in 2016 NBA Draft. We believe this is a phenomenal decision for Rabb. While very talented he needs to put on weight and gain strength before he could play substantial minutes for an NBA team.

While his teammate Jaylen Brown declared and should be a top 5 pick CAL head coach Cuonzo Martin has to be a happy man. Rabb averaged 12.5pts, and 8.6 reb for the Bears. Rabb will be on a lot of pre-season all-american teams next season.

THORNTON DOWN TO 4 SCHOOLS

Derryck Thornton, who played at Duke this past season has left Duke and is considering 4 schools to transfer to. They are Kansas, Washington, USC, and Miami (FL). Thornton averaged 7.1pts, 1.8reb, and 2.6ast per game for the Blue Devils. He had his share of struggles trying to run the Blue Devil’s offense. With highly recruited PG Frank Jackson coming to Duke next season Thornton would be playing a back-up role. Thornton will have to sit out next season at whichever school he ends up at.

TOP 5 TRANSFERS LOOKING FOR HOMES

Every year it seems like more players end up transferring from their original school. Whether it be playing time, differences with the coach, homesickness, or more there are transfers out there who can help out their new school. Here is our list of who we think are the top 5 transfers out there. All of the following players are still figuring out where to transfer.

  1. DERRYCK THORNTON- DUKE
  2. DANIEL GIDDENS- OHIO STATE
  3. CALEB MARTIN- NC STATE
  4. KORY HOLDEN- DELAWARE
  5. CANYON BARRY- CHARLESTON

AMILE JEFFERSON GETS 5TH YEAR

Duke received good news as F Amile Jefferson was granted a 5th year. Jefferson received a medical red-shirt after getting hurt in the beginning of the season. With Grayson Allen returning along with a phenomenal recruiting class, Duke looks like a potential national championship contender next year.

#3 RECRUITING CLASS FOR 2016

COMMITTED PLAYERS: (#’s next to players name indicates national ranking)

#11: MILES BRIDGES  SF

#18: JOSHUA LANGFORD  SG

#28: CASSIUS WINSTON  PG

#45: NICK WARD  PF

CLASS SUMMARY: All 4 players in this class should play immediately. Bridges was a McDonald’s All-American and will start from Day 1. He is an athletic and extremely talented lefty who Tom Izzo will love. Langford is one of the better SG’s in the country and reminds us of former Spartan star Mo Peterson.

Winston will compete for playing time and is an excellent floor general. Ward is another top 50 recruit who should provide valuable minutes as a back-up PF/C. He has an offensive game similar to NBA veteran Zach Randolph when he was at MSU. We really like this class. All of the 4 players are very tough, which Izzo loves. This class should keep Michigan State among the class of the Big-10 conference.
