PLAYER SUMMARY: Indiana fans were thinking that the 2016-17 season was going to be a special one. Instead it turned out very disappointing. Head Coach Tom Crean was let go. Looking ahead to next season the Hoosiers will be without their 2 best players, as OG Anunoby and Thomas Bryant are leaving for the NBA.

Thomas Bryant is a very intriguing prospect. He had a very good freshman campaign. He death with some injuries this past season, however, he has the talent to be a good NBA player. We believe Bryant wasn’t used properly last season. A player with his ability should have been put in situations where he can be effective and in our opinion, the coaching staff didn’t use his abilities to the fullest extent.

Bryant already looks like an NBA veteran. He has a great body that is made for professional basketball. He is a very mobile athlete for being 6’10”. We love his ability to get up and down the floor. He has a very high motor that never stops. He plays very hard. He also has the skills needed to play in the league.

The big-man’s shooting ability stands out to us. Bryant has a very nice shooting stroke with solid mechanics. He can hit the 15-foot jumper and his range can extend to the 3-point line. This has us believing that he can eventually turn into a “stretch-4” at the next level. He shows a few nice low-post moves, although he will need to continue to develop his moves around the basket.

The sophomore is an above average rebounder and shot blocker. A question NBA scouts have is if he can handle quicker big-man on the defensive end. If he can show to scouts during individual workouts that he can, his stock will rise. His consistency in games is another question mark. On one play he looks like a lottery pick and then he goes through lapses. Again, we don’t believe he was used correctly at Indiana.

Thomas Bryant has all the skills necessary to become a very good NBA player. If he stayed in college another year he would most likely have been a first round pick in 2018. He shows glimpses of being an excellent and versatile big-man, which are always in high demand. Bryant looks to be a 2nd round pick in the loaded 2017 NBA Draft. In our opinion, if he puts it all together, he will make teams regret passing him up. Players with his skill-set, size, and motor will play in the NBA. In 3-4 years, we believe Bryant can be a very good back-up or even a starter. He might just be a 2nd round steal.

BELOW ARE HIGHLIGHTS OF THOMAS BRYANT
