COLLEGE: CLEMSON UNIVERSITY
WEIGHT: 220 POUNDS
POSITION: SMALL FORWARD
PROJECTED DRAFT POSITION: LATE FIRST/EARLY SECOND ROUND
PLAYER SUMMARY: We were very high on Blossomgame coming into this season. So much so, that we had him on our pre-season All-American team. While the senior played well, he couldn’t get Clemson over the hump and into the NCAA tournament.
We still have confidence that he can be a solid NBA rotational player. He does a lot of things well, however, nothing at an elite level. If his jump-shot keeps improving, he might sneak into the back end of the first round. He will have to show NBA scouts during individual workouts that he can make the outside jumper with regularity.
BELOW IS BLOSSOMGAME’S 2016 NBA DRAFT PROFILE
PLAYER SUMMARY: Blossomgame averaged just under 5 points a game as a sophomore last season. What a difference a year makes. He is now averaging over 18PTS per game and might be the most improved player in the ACC and should get serious consideration for ALL-ACC honors.
Blossomgame has really improved his ability to drive to the basket this year. This has led him to have a higher field-goal %. Improved ball-handling and lateral quickness are the 2 main reasons why. He has 3-point range, although it needs to be improved upon.
I like the Junior’s tenacity and physicality. He has completely remade his offensive game. The concerns I have are is he a one-year wonder? Can he keep improving at the rate he has this season? Will his jump-shot improve to NBA level standards? These are all questions that will need to be answered before the NBA Draft in June. However, you can’t discount the fact that Jaron Blossomgame is one of the most improved players in America. Can he keep improving?
