PLAYER SUMMARY: Ulis was a backup to the Harrison twins last season as Kentucky was undefeated before being upset by Wisconsin in the Final 4. He showed glimpses of what type of player he can be during last seasons phenomenal run. However, he has surpassed all expectations and is one of the best college players in america.

Ulis is only 5’9″. Do not let his height fool you. He is very tough and displays that on the court. His ball-handling is perhaps the best of any college player and he creates easy shots for his teammates because of that. His vision on the court is superb as his assist to turnover ratio is outstanding.

The Sophomore has become a very good shooter and has perfected a nice little floater in the lane, which will be needed in the NBA due to his height. His range extends beyond the 3-point range and he is dynamite in the pick and roll. He is a real leader on the court and shows outstanding leadership qualities.

At the college level, Ulis has shown to be a real good one-on-one defender in which he can use his lateral quickness to stay with opposing PG’s. The question I have along with everyone else is how does his lack of height translate to the NBA game. Ulis isn’t growing anymore. He will be a 5’9″ PG, which will surely disinterest some teams.

In my opinion, Ulis is a very rare case. On talent alone, I believe he is a top 10-15 pick. He is that good. The height and strength are major question marks. However, you can’t deny talent, which Ulis has plenty of. While he wont be a top 20 pick, I believe he can go right after that. If I was an NBA team drafting towards the bottom of the first round, I draft Ulis and let him come off the bench and change the complexion of the game. Forget his height, Tyler Ulis will be a good NBA player.
