PLAYER SUMMARY: One of college basketball’s most exciting players, the diminutive Oakland University point guard was a 3rd team All-American selection this past season. He is entering the 2016 NBA Draft as a junior. While Felder plays at a mid-major school without much fan-fare he could start at 95% of any team in college basketball. He was one of the leading scorer’s in the nation as well.
Felder jumps out on tape when you watch him. Despite only being 5’9″ he is solidly built and is an absurd athlete who dunks with regularity. His quickness and explosiveness shines when watching him. He is an excellent passer and can get into the lane any time he wants. Felder is a good but not great shooter. The 21-year old uses a lot of different moves to get his shot off. He is asked to do everything for his college team and he can get overzealous at times. The lefty shooting PG is an excellent free throw shooter.
The main concern with Felder is obviously his height just like Kentucky’s superb PG Tyler Ulis. While we usually would wish a player return to college if he wasn’t a guaranteed first round pick, we believe Felder should stay in the 2016 NBA Draft as the 2017 Draft will be a stronger one in terms of talent. Felder should be selected in the 2nd round of the upcoming June draft. He also has an excellent chance of making an NBA roster. He is very talented and can play a role as a change of pace back-up PG who can make a quick impact on a game due to his skills.
